A quiet, introverted, by-the-book kind of career military man who doesn't stand out in a crowd. By his own admission, Kaidan knows that he will never be accused of having the strongest personality in any room he enters; it's up in the air just based on his in-game statements and behaviour whether he is really comfortable with being perceived as 'the boring one' (though my personal interpretation of his character is that he prefers this to some of the alternatives). His personal feelings aside, though, he nevertheless uses this perception to his advantage; Commander Shepard notes early in their acquaintance that Kaidan is shrewdly observant and has his finger on the pulse of the politics at work behind the Citadel Council's decision not to investigate their own Spectre operative, Saren, despite strong circumstantial evidence. In short, Kaidan holds himself to a high standard and plays by the rules--but, in his own words, he always tries to 'leave a way out,' just in case.
